About the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce

   

Established in 1989, the chamber serves the general economic trading region encompassing Northeast Berks County.

The area includes the school districts of Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood, and Kutztown. Also included are the boroughs of Fleetwood, Kempton, Kutztown, Lenhartsville, Lyon Station, and Topton and all or part of the townships of Albany, District, Greenwich, Longswamp, Maidencreek, Maxatawny, Richmond, Rockland, Ruscombmanor, and Windsor.

 

MISSION STATEMENT:

The purpose of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce is to:
Promote the economic vitality of the business community and the quality of life of our citizens through proper planning and applicable activities;
Promote the concept of a healthy, safe community and address concerns affected by growth and growth and development; and
Promote civic responsibility and volunteerism by all citizens and publicly recognize those contributions.
 

OPERATIONS:
The Chamber office, located in the National Penn Bank building at 110 West Main Street in Kutztown, is open Tue. Through Fri. from 9AM to 2PM.  Chamber operations and program administration are the responsibility of the Executive Director and the Asst. to the Executive Director.

 

ORGANIZATION:
The Chamber's leadership consists of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee, headed by the Chamber President, establishes policy and procedure and is comprised of the Chamber's officers which include the president, the vice-presidents, the secretary and the treasurer. The Board is responsible for adopting all policy and procedures and has oversight accountability for the solicitation and expenditure of all funds.

 

MEMBERSHIP:
The Chamber consists of approximately 270 individual members including; large and small business owners, institutions of learning, financial institutions, doctors, dentists, attorneys, engineers, retailer, wholesalers, telecommunications companies, individuals, social service organizations, and civic organizations. MONTHLY BUSINESS MEETINGS:
Monthly chamber business meetings are held on the third Friday of the month beginning at 7:45 AM. (Place of Venue and speakers are announced approx. 1 month prior to the event.)
